Kaunas funiculars
Kaunas has two functioning funiculars. It is the only city in Lithuania with this type of transport. Not many functioning funiculars are left in the world nowadays.
One funicular connects the old town and Aleksotas district. It takes people up the Aleksotas hill. Taking this funicular is very entertaining and you can see a wonderful panoramic view. Another funicular connects the centre of Kaunas and Zaliakalnis district. Zaliakalnis funicular is one of the oldest in Europe!

Kaunas is a rather nice city to wander through although it does look quite different in the summer than when I traveled in winter.

Did you take these pictures yourself? If so, they came out wonderful.

Winter is not the best time to visit Lithuania. Everything is more beautiful in summer and weather is pleasant.

If you are lucky and not afraid of cold, winter can also be pleasant in Kaunas. Although city and people are vivider in spring and especially in summer times.
